Clear budgets and income should be published and available for all members and those who give.

Staff members seem to be always short-term - no long terms present in job history.

Does the church support other missions and missionaries?

Is the Senior Pastor approachable about money issues?

Does the church set aside funds to help widows and children?

Is there a church board open to your suggestions and feedback?

Does the church actively require and background check on all volunteers and staff who work with children?

Does the church have safety kids in place in all areas including defibrillators, in the worship center and members trained in CPR?

Is there a mechanism and policy in place to handle child abuse issues?

Does the church have an active ministry involving greeting new comers, solicit volunteers and engage everyone in finding their best area of service?

Do you feel welcome as a visitor?  Do people reach out and introduce themselves?

Is there financial accountability, business meetings, are the books open to all members?

I visited a church this past Sunday and was impressed that they actually publish weekly how much was given to date and last week, with budget goals.
