FUNERALS
A well-planned funeral where the music and spoken word will cast positive memories for everyone present.
Photographs in PowerPoint presentations are a great idea, especially if they are in good sequential order. It is always a good idea to plan your service ahead of time. Pictures and videos should be chosen with thought and care. Inviting friends and family to speak is more meaningful at the reception after the funeral. Most services are an hour in length. Chose hymns that have a fast harmonic rhythm and the theme should be a life well lived - a Celebration.
FEES
Remuneration can vary from state to state, and each denomination may have its fee schedule. Sometimes the church collects one fee and shares it with all the vendors.
In the case of weddings, families spend thousands of dollars on receptions, dresses, tuxes, flowers, and other gifts; paying your musicians a few hundred dollars is reasonable. If vocalists, choirs and instrumentalists are engaged, this will cost more. Rehearsal times should be reimbursed as well for weddings and funerals.
